Goodbye Burlap and Mason Jars!

With the start of a new year CHEERS is saying out with the old and in with the new, and one trend in particular that we are saying bye to is  burlap and mason jars. Not that we don’t love it, but we are ready to see new trends emerge with the new year and have brides choose décor that  is fresh and exciting.

If you still want the vintage feel to your wedding there are many alternatives to using burlap. Some examples of alternatives to burlap are ribbon, lace, doilies and even paper. The images below show how weddings can still be vintage without using burlap.

This paper table runner was hand painted and really completes this tablescape.

Although burlap does add a nice rustic tone to a wedding, it is overdone. Come on brides, let your creativity shine and show your guests that your wedding is new, original, and something that defines you and your style. With that being said lets now go to mason jars. These jars are seen everywhere in the wedding circuit and it is about time that they start fading. Some of our favorite alternatives to using mason jars are mercury vase glasses, etched crystal vases, vintage colored vases, tall column vases, and oil lamps (vintage or Moroccan). All of these alternatives will wow your guests and show your ingenuity.

Not only are these ideas unique, but they can also be budget friendly. Shopping online at places such as Etsy, Ebay, or just Google you can find many deals on the different mason jar alternatives and table runners. Some of the table runners can even be a fun DIY project.

With these tips your wedding will show your guests something besides the cookie cutter wedding and that you are aren’t afraid to try new things and stand out.

Fabulous Florals

Did you know flowers are one of the earliest traditions when it comes to Weddings?

It is first recorded that flowers were used at weddings in Ancient Greece. Plants and Flowers were assorted together to form wreath that would be worn on their heads. Although most people have strayed away from wedding wreaths, flowers are still a big part of Wedding tradition and are used in the majority of the modern-day Wedding. Cheers not only keeps up with this tradition, but actually does our own floral arrangements!  Scroll down to see some of the beautiful floral arrangements that we have done in the past.

Toasting at the Tower Room

200

Event planning is never a dull day, especially wedding planning. One sees new designs, personalized details, and entertainment with each wedding that comes along. We had the pleasure of helping Scout and Victor plan their nuptials at The Tower Room this spring! A fun-loving, medical couple, the room was filled with hints of hospitals, and lots of doctors! Being from the middle east, Victor also brought fantastic traditions to their big day, including many fabulously-fun dances, a belly-dancer, Arak, and even a live stream of the wedding to Lebanon. There was a lot of love in the air, many Arabic “line-dancing”, lots of laughter, and fabulous ambiance. Guests had a hard time going home!

Congratulations to Scout and Victor! We wish you a lifetime of happiness, and if we ever need a trip to the hospital, we’re counting on you! 😉

Thank you very much to our fantastic vendors, who we couldn’t have made this day possible without! A big thank you to Kim with Ramblin’ Rose Photography for these just gorgeous shots!

Food, beverage, uplighting, and ambiance provided by The Tower  RoomA beautiful cake by Laura Jackson of The Flour Gardenfabulous florals by Eric and Greg of Garden Districtand rentals by Classic Party Rentals truly brought together Scout’s vision. Shane Dauberger with Perfection DJ’s  kept ALL those dancers entertained all night long. Noone wanted to stop dancing! Thank you to Amara from Amara Dance for the incredible belly dancing and many performances throughout the evening. It was our first belly-dancer and we were thrilled to be a part of it! A special shout out to Justin Croninger of Message in a Bottle Productions, who live-streamed the wedding ceremony and reception all the way to Lebanon so the brother of the groom wouldn’t miss a beat, all while also filming their wedding video! It’s those kinds of gestures that really bring a wedding to a special/sentimental place. A final big Thank You to all of the staff at CHEERS Event Planning. We work very hard, and we thank all of you for helping us work even harder!

Cake by The Flour Garden

Photography by Snap Happy Photography

Every bride and groom have certain aspects of their wedding that are more important than others!

For some, a delicious piece of cake is key! It is often the only sweet treat offered and can be highlighted by flowers or lighting to make a statement! It can often become the centerpiece of a reception room, and can be the first thing guests see- and eat if they had the choice!

Gotta love a good sweet tooth!

As wedding planners, we know the importance of hiring fabulous bakers! We are so lucky to have so many fabulous talents here in Memphis! Wedding planning here is a delight due to the incredible vendors that are located all over the city, and in the surrounding areas!

Here are a few photos from our past weddings highlighting different cakes and styles!

Enjoy and try to resist !
