Perfection at The Peabody

DSC_4755-Edit-2

Lindsay and Brad were just perfection. The nicest couple, and so wonderful to work with. We had a blast helping them plan their big day, and I must say, Lindsay is kind, organized, and truly down to earth, which was just perfect for the planning process. Lindsay’s vision had originally included a ceremony at The Botanic Gardens, which alas, was rained out, so her whole day took place at The Peabody Hotel, which turned out beautifully. The involved vendors were able to come together and execute the rain plan beautifully, and once the rain cleared, the sky was glowing-which created fabulous photo opportunities!!

Many many Thank You’s to our involved vendors for making this day possible, and for making the rain plan a smooth transition! A big thank you to Maryrose Brame Photography for the lovely photos- which were featured in this month’s The Pink Bride MagazineYou can see that article here: Lindsay and Brad.

Holliday Flowers created Lindsay’s exact vision, and re-created an outdoor setting inside the Peabody to tie in the outdoor look of Botanic Gardens. If that’s not commitment to your job and clients, I don’t know what is!  Music from Innocenti Strings paired beautifully with Lindsay’s traditional ceremony-officiated by Paul White of Ministers in a MinuteWe couldn’t have had ceremony sound without Tommy of Dingo Entertainment, who also re-routed to The Peabody. Front and Beale killed it during the reception and kept the crowd dancing all night! They were a band full of true personality, who really interacted with the crowd, and kept everything very personal. Thank you to Whimsy Cookie Company for the sweet Whimsy Bites- a great idea for guest favors! As always, a big thank you to all of our staff at Cheers Event Planning. Without you, we couldn’t implement all of our hard work!

Now for everyone’s favorite- the photos! Enjoy!

Fabulous Florals

Did you know flowers are one of the earliest traditions when it comes to Weddings?

It is first recorded that flowers were used at weddings in Ancient Greece. Plants and Flowers were assorted together to form wreath that would be worn on their heads. Although most people have strayed away from wedding wreaths, flowers are still a big part of Wedding tradition and are used in the majority of the modern-day Wedding. Cheers not only keeps up with this tradition, but actually does our own floral arrangements!  Scroll down to see some of the beautiful floral arrangements that we have done in the past.

Traditional Wedding Flowers? …OR….

Pink-Peony-Bouquet-with-Peach-Ribbon-500x332

Not that into flowers? Are you looking for something different? Tired of the same types of arrangements and bouquets?

This blog post is for YOU!

As wedding planners, it is our job to keep up with the latest trends, as well as generate creativity and originality in each of our events. Not all of our clients look for flowers when it comes to decor, and many are always searching for something creative and different. While doing some research for next season’s wedding trends, we discovered many non-floral centerpiece and bouquet ideas! The possibilities are seeming endless, and brides are showcasing their originality by straying away from the traditions of “classic wedding flowers.”

Toasting at the Tower Room

200

Event planning is never a dull day, especially wedding planning. One sees new designs, personalized details, and entertainment with each wedding that comes along. We had the pleasure of helping Scout and Victor plan their nuptials at The Tower Room this spring! A fun-loving, medical couple, the room was filled with hints of hospitals, and lots of doctors! Being from the middle east, Victor also brought fantastic traditions to their big day, including many fabulously-fun dances, a belly-dancer, Arak, and even a live stream of the wedding to Lebanon. There was a lot of love in the air, many Arabic “line-dancing”, lots of laughter, and fabulous ambiance. Guests had a hard time going home!

Congratulations to Scout and Victor! We wish you a lifetime of happiness, and if we ever need a trip to the hospital, we’re counting on you! 😉

Thank you very much to our fantastic vendors, who we couldn’t have made this day possible without! A big thank you to Kim with Ramblin’ Rose Photography for these just gorgeous shots!

Food, beverage, uplighting, and ambiance provided by The Tower  RoomA beautiful cake by Laura Jackson of The Flour Gardenfabulous florals by Eric and Greg of Garden Districtand rentals by Classic Party Rentals truly brought together Scout’s vision. Shane Dauberger with Perfection DJ’s  kept ALL those dancers entertained all night long. Noone wanted to stop dancing! Thank you to Amara from Amara Dance for the incredible belly dancing and many performances throughout the evening. It was our first belly-dancer and we were thrilled to be a part of it! A special shout out to Justin Croninger of Message in a Bottle Productions, who live-streamed the wedding ceremony and reception all the way to Lebanon so the brother of the groom wouldn’t miss a beat, all while also filming their wedding video! It’s those kinds of gestures that really bring a wedding to a special/sentimental place. A final big Thank You to all of the staff at CHEERS Event Planning. We work very hard, and we thank all of you for helping us work even harder!

Andrea and Andy. What a treat your wedding was!  Cheers to our fabulous Star Wars couple- hence, their wedding date, May 4th.

A big thank you to Nathan Rye Photography for these gorgeous photos. What a job well done- and check out those colors and that clarity on the cake! We worked with the couple, and their families for a year and a half to perfect their special day! Andy (and Andrea) are big into Star Wars, and much to her mother’s chagrin, they were able to incorporate a few subtle hints into the reception! Entering to the Imperial March, and pulling a light saber instead of a garter were some of our personal favorites! A truly in love couple, you guys were a hoot!

As always, a huge thank you to our vendors!! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Wedding Exit Items

lavender-toss

The Wedding Exit Items. One day there will be another term for this!

Traditionally, rice used to be thrown at each couple as they exited their ceremony! Alas, birdseed has become a thing of the past- due to birds eating the rice and unfortunately dying as a result. Today, brides are getting CREATIVE! As a wedding planner, it is fun to see what type of exit each one will choose! Exit items, for the most part, are being used after the reception, which strays from the traditional post-ceremony toss!

As we all know, many traditions have transitioned over the years, including the above-mentioned post-ceremony versus post-reception toss, and birdseed! From bubbles, to sparklers, to colored sprinkles, the possibilities are endless!

Emerald- The Pantone of the 2013

pantone-emerald-2013-1

Much to our surprise, Emerald was chosen as this year’s 2013 Pantone color! (We had money on mint green- close!) As event planners, we are interested to see if Pantone colors trend into weddings! Bold is IN for weddings this year, and Emerald is a perfect color to add to ones wedding palette! It can serve as a featured color, or even as an accent, and can jazz up ones wedding or event immediately with its rich hues. We have found a collection of designs and details sure to impress, and are looking forward to seeing them reflect in future events.

Celebrating at Calliope

Laura and Michael were such a joy to work with! What a nice couple. We are so honored to have been a part of their big day and as always, we couldn’t do it without our fabulous vendors! Rob Lyons Photography captured the essence of this couple beautifully, and really showcased their love, and, the touches of vintage Laura chose for her look. Who doesn’t love a groom running towards his bride during a first look too?! Many thanks to Goldberg Solutions for the tunes, sweet dance moves, and light show to impress! A big thank you to Affordable Party Rentals for the great rentals, and Me and My Tea Room Catering for the food/action stations and lace-inspired cake! Beautiful programs by Dixon’s Printing and a gorgeous limo from Premier Transportation started and finished the evening beautifully. Thank you to everyone for another successful event and another happy couple!

All the best to you both and thank you for being so wonderful.

Tower Room I Do’s!

What a fun wedding! We are so happy for this wonderful couple and are so grateful to our amazing vendors for making the night a success! Candice’s vision of navy and pink came to life using pink ambiance lighting from MCC highlighting each column- especially when the sun went down! The Tower Room provided a beautiful venue, fabulous food, and fun signature cocktails designed by the bride and groom! Goldberg Solutions provided party lights, as well as music that kept people dancing all night. What a fun crowd! Spandex chair covers with matching sashes, as well as “bling trees” provided by Elegant Chair Solutions complimented Candice’s personality, and the look she was going for! Cheers Event Planning provided florals based on photos of bouquets and arrangements Candice had spent time researching and many thanks to MCC Wholesale Floral! Cocoa Van Cupcakes and Rockstars Little Cake Shop provided sweet treats, while Ministers in  Minute provided the I Do’s!

A big thank you to Caylan Vanaman Photography for these fabulous photos! We love seeing the love between Candice and Terry (and how can you resist their beautiful daughter- who never once cried during our 10 month planning process with Candice! What a great kid!)

Another huge THANK YOU to our vendors! A job well done!

Congratulations to the happy couple! Enjoy the photos and Happy Planning!

2013 Wedding Trends!

As certified wedding planners, it is our job to make sure we are always up to date on the latest wedding trends! We are very excited about the upcoming trends and themes for 2013 and even predictions for 2014! While 2012 held some fabulous new trends, we are thrilled to see the return of elegant soirees, lounges, fun food ideas, and branding!

Out with Rustic-In with 20’s Glamour!

It is no secret that the “Rustic Wedding” was very popular last year and even into this year! Mason jars, burlap, barns, and DIY were among many popular items, however, 2013-14 has a new look to uphold! This year’s trends are seeming to show a 1920’s formal look and we are very excited!

The Return of Wedding Lounges!

Couples are getting creative this year with their decor, including the return of wedding lounges! What a great way to offer more seating, as well as fun seating for you guests! Instead of being “stuck at a table”, they are free to spend their time in the gorgeous lounge you have created. While the goal is to have people on the dance floor, there are often guests, such as family members, who enjoy taking it easy and a lounge is the perfect addition for them.

Out with Candy Bars- in with Creative Desserts!

We have loved the dessert/candy bars, however, we are also loving the new “sweet” trends to come! From individual cakes, to popcorn bars, to ice cream trucks, creativity is IN. Brides are showing us that the possibilities are endless and are using desserts as a way to showcase their sweet tooth! Yum.

Color, Color, Color!

Brides are using color! Whether or not it is in their shoes, in their bouquet, or in their linens, color is here for 2013! While many are still upholding the traditional white bouquets, many brides are using pops of color to express their theme or style! This is also being applied in their shoes, groom’s socks, and even in wedding decor! Color is a great way to brand you wedding and even showcase your favorite hues.

Food for Thought

Catering has skyrocketed in creativity over the past few years and continues on into the upcoming wedding trends! From mini-food, to food stations, to upscale displays, couples are getting very creative with the presentation of their food! Even late night snacks are coming back into trend! We are loving this because it is a fabulous way to set your wedding apart and show your creativity with food themes and flavors.
